Freedom in Our Inner Child

Now that we understand who the Inner Child is, and we spent time meeting our Inner Child and resolving some of our past issues in order to heal, the next step is to integrate our Inner Parent, Adult and Child.

We start by forgiving our self of anything we did wrong. This incident is over. As we forgive our self, then we can make amends in any way possible.

We may feel shame without having any memory associated with it. This shame comes from actions perpetrated against us for which we are taking responsibility. Satan is the author of shame.

Release any shame, which Satan is using to keep you under his bondage. Jesus set you free indeed (spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, son set free, we are free indeed).

God will convict us; we will feel guilt; but Jesus already covered that sin and it is already forgiven. Simply turn away from sin and walk in God’s Spirit (Galatians 5:15-25).

Our old sinful nature is dead already, and we are now risen to walk in a new life with Christ; Christ is our whole life (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:3-4).

We can totally accept our self with all of our idiosyncrasies and find our true worth in our identity in Christ. Rereading our journal will give us ideas on ways to incorporate activities into our life now, which we enjoyed in our childhood.

We may like coloring, swinging, putting puzzles together, doing crafts, sports or playing board games. Give yourself permission to play.

When we feel negative emotions, we can now chat about it with our Inner Parent, Adult and Child and ask God’s Spirit to reveal the cause of that feeling.

This issue is either a source of pain or an idol in our life. We can trust God to give us the courage to change it or the humility to surrender it to Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Prayer:
Father God, remind us not to obsess about issues in our life over which we have no control. Help us not to worry, but to have faith in Your faithfulness to work out everything for our ultimate good (worry doesn’t add one inch to stature; Romans 8:28).

Help us to keep our focus on You; give us Your perspective on every aspect in our life, so that we will be motivated, guided, strengthened and comforted by Your peace (mind is stayed on thee).

Thought for the Day:
Living in God’s Spirit allows us to stop judging our self and other people, to let go of our pain and disappointments and to walk in the joy of the Lord as our strength.
